What is a Singing Bowl?

A Singing Bowl is pretty much an inverted bell, supported from below with the rim at the top.  Singing Bowls come in a wide range of sizes, from a few inches to more than 2 feet in diameter. They are often played by striking, or by rotating a mallet around the outside rim to produce a sustained musical note.

Singing Bowls are used in some Buddhist religious practices to accompany periods of meditation and chanting. Singing Bowls are widely used for creating a calming and harmonic sound to enhance meditation and relaxation, as well as for personal spirituality. They have become popular with music therapists, sound healers, and yoga practitioners.
