Casting Circles
Sunday January 4th, 2015 11:00am to 12:00pm

For the first 30 minutes of the meeting, those who would like to do so will share their experiences doing the New Year Spell.

The topic for the day is casting circles! There are multiple reasons to cast circles: ritual, spell-work, meditation, peace, protection, etc. Those with experience will share their knowledge, while those still learning can ask questions and receive tips. The elders of the group will also demonstrate the way each casts his or her circles.

Your assignment for the next meeting: practice what you have learned (cast a circle for meditation if there is no ritual or spell you need to do) and come on January 11 ready to share your experience.

KCPC Planning Meeting
Sunday January 11th, 2015 11:00am to 12:00pm

The first 30 minutes will be set aside to share our experiences with circle-casting from the previous week.

This meeting will be a business meeting. We will discuss and take suggestions for KCPC’s bylaws, purpose, council duties, requirements to hold office, and planned events. Jamie will be sharing packets of what she has compiled already.

Homework for next meeting: do some kind of research about what calling the quarters means and try doing so yourself. If you are worried about doing it without more knowledge, this does not have to be in a ritual form; write what you would say for each quarter or share what you have found in your research.

Calling The Quarters
Sunday January 18th, 2015 11:00am to 12:00pm

First, we will identify what the quarters are and their associations. After which, we will discuss information we found and experiences from those who called the quarters. Members who would like to do so, can demonstrate how they call quarters.

Homework for next week: choose a God or Goddess and research him or her. Just hit the main points: pantheon/country of origin, what he/she oversees (god of war, love, hearth, etc.), and something strongly associated with him/her (Thor and his hammer, Athena and her shield, Dionyssus and wine, etc.).

Invoking Deities & Making Offerings
Sunday January 25th, 2015 from 11:00am to 12:00pm

Invoking and evoking a deity are two different things; we will go over the basic differences and discuss how to invoke during a ritual or spell. Each person who wants will share about five minutes of information about the deity he/she chose last week, and we will discuss wording to invoke and appropriate altar décor and offerings. Your mission should you choose to accept it: find a way to work giving an offering to a deity of your choice into your monthly routine. We aren’t having a meeting next week since we will be doing ritual.

We will also take some time to discuss our plans for next week’s Imbolc ritual. Jamie will be leading and calling upon the Maiden Goddess and young Horned God. To prepare for the ritual, create or gather something that can be used as offering rather than buying something. (Use what you have learned from our discussion about deities.)
