Imbolc 2016

Enchanted Cottage’s
Imbolc Ritual
Saturday, February 6th
7:00pm to 9:00pm

By February, most of us are tired of the cold, snowy season. Imbolc reminds us that spring is coming soon, and that we only have a few more weeks of winter to go. The sun gets a little brighter, the days are geting longer, the earth gets a little warmer, and we know that life is quickening within the soil.

Come celebrate with us at Enchanted Cottage. This year’s Imbolc ritual will be facilitated by Gary Mora.

Ritual Time is from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. As always all Enchanted Cottage rituals are FREE and open to the public.

Kern County Pagan Circle
Making a Magical Candle
Sunday Fenruary 7th
11:00am to 1:00pm

It’s time for another fun magical craft day! The meeting will be led by a member of KCPC, and we will be making wax free magical candles to take home. The meeting itself is open to all members. However, we will only have space for 15 members to make the candles themselves. Due to the nature of the materials we will be using, (i.e. hot oils and other liquids) we will require that all participants who are actually making candles be at least 16 years old. There will also be a small charge to reserve a spot to make candles. The charge will be $3.00, and all funds will be used for materials. Any leftover funds will be donated to KCPC. First come, first serve. And all payments are non-refundable once the supplies have been bought.

If you don’t want to make a candle, or all our spaces are taken up, please come anyway! Any member is welcome to sit in and learn how to do this at home. Or if we get enough people, a separate discussion will take place in the courtyard so as to not interfere with the candle making.

We hope to see you all there on the first meeting of the month!

Second Saturday Seance at Six

The space is cleared so that only spiritual beings with the intentions of the highest and greatest good come in.
Cost $20.00
Please class us at 661-323-9929 to RSVP. Space is limited

Love magic. How you can do it, and why you probably shouldn’t.
Sunday February 14th
11:00am to 1:00pm

So, it’s that time of year again. Love is in the air. Little red and pink hearts are everywhere. And chocolate and roses are everywhere you turn. Yep, you guessed it. It’s Valentines Day!

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that love and sex spells are very popular this time of the year. But what exactly makes a spell a love spell? How would you do one? And why? Though the better question should probably be “why should I not?”! Though a love spell may seem harmless and fun, they are a serious topic that needs to be discussed and studied before you ever try to do one yourself. The first part of the meeting shall be dedicated to this subject. This part of the meeting will be rated PG, and open to everyone.

So now we get to the second part of this holiday… the sex. And where you find the convergence of magically inclined people and sex, you will inevitably find in some dark corner, sex magic. Not that all sex magic is wrong or bad. It is however, a touchy subject. And one that we have determined to be of importance to touch upon at this time. We will however, out of an abundance of caution, deem this part of the meeting to be rated R. So no one under the age of 18 may attend without the presence of an adult. And only those at least 16 years old may attend with an adult.

Those who wish to attend the first part of the meeting, but not the later, may do so. We will have a brief intermission to allow all who wish to leave, or need to, to go before we start the second part of the meeting. Each section of the meeting should only take about an hour. We hope to see you all there on this most romantic of days!

Stones and Crystals
Sunday February 21st
11:00am to 1:00pm

ROCKS!!!!!!! Some of us just love ourselves some rocks. Old, new, shiny, dull, polished, rough, semi-precious, precious, or just another stone on the path of life. Rocks are all around us. They are the things we see every day. But did you know that rocks can have a magical influence on our lives? They can!

The third meeting of the month we will be discussing some of the magical properties of the most common rocks, and how and why you use them. Some of our members will also bring along some samples of rocks to show the group what to look for, and what they look like.

Even if you don’t particularly use rocks in any of your magical practices this is a good meeting to come to if you just want to get to hold some pretty stones! And if anybody has any rocks they have collected but don’t seem to know much about, then this is the meeting to come to. There is a high probability that someone there will have an answer for you. Just remember to bring your rock so the ‘experts’ can get a good look at it.

Spirit Animals and Totems
Sunday February 28th
11:00am to 1:00pm

What is a spirit animal? And what is a totem? Are they the same thing? Isn’t this just a Native American belief? Why do these new age people keep talking about them all the time? Do ‘I’ have a spirit animal and I just don’t know it?

This may be a tricky subject for some in our community. I know it is for me! So in light of this we will be discussing this subject in detail with the help of some of our more knowledgeable members on the last Sunday of the month. This looks to be an enlightening discussion, and we hope to see you there!
