Kern County Pagan Circle
Sunday August 9th 11:00am to 12:30pm

Meditation is an extremely useful tool in our magickal practices. It allows us to practice focus as well as blocking out distractions. We will briefly discuss the common forms of meditation before exploring other practices. Gary will also lead a guided meditation and discussion of its effect on us once we are finished.

Daily Devotions
Sunday August 16th 11:00am to 12:30pm

While we acknowledge and honor the presence of many deities, most of us follow a specific deity or pantheon. We will be learning about the ways we can practice honoring our patron Gods daily. Those who do daily or ritualized devotions will be able to share the details of their practices and why they take that particular form.

Purposes & Meanings of
Modern Pagan Symbols
Sunday August 23rd 11:00am to 12:30pm

The world is awash in symbols and symbolism. Paganism and witchcraft have a large variety of their own. Many images are quite common: pentacle, broom, triquetra, Thor’s Hammer, and more. While the images may be an everyday site, their meanings are not always known or clear. We will discuss the meanings of these and the purpose for which they are used.

Building a Ritual
Sunday August 30th 11:00am to 12:30pm

Ritual is one of the key practices of Wicca and many forms of paganism. Depending on which path you take, your ritual will follow certain patterns. For KCPC, we tend to follow a particular outline in planning and performing sabbats and esbats. We will go over that outline as well as ways in which it would vary based on the sabbat or esbat. After reviewing the layout of a ritual, Kathy will be planning September’s esbat with the help and participation of a couple members who have never had the opportunity to create a group ritual.
